Quilts of Valor at the Muskogee War Memorial Park

The staff at the Muskogee War Memorial Park: Home of the USS Batfish, was proud to have another one of our submarine veterans honored by Quilts of Valor, an organization dedicated to cover veterans and service members with comforting and healing quilts of valor. Nick Guagliardo, a World War II veteran who served aboard the USS Loggerhead (SS-374) and the USS Mackerel (SS-204), received a Quilt of Valor made by Sue Goldsmith Harris.

Nick was instrumental in bringing a submarine to Muskogee, Oklahoma and is also one our board members at the Muskogee War Memorial Park. While he claims to be 90 years old, he honestly does not look a day over 45.
